An Icon for St Kilda

Better known as ‘The Lego Tower’, The Icon Apartments has gained well deserved attention due to its unique and innovative coloured boxes stacked on top of each other, providing a welcome burst of colour for St Kilda.

Pace Development Group worked with artist Matthew Johnson and architects Jackson Clement Burrows to create this outstanding icon for St Kilda.

Having a good relationship with Cortek by SBS Group, Pace approached us to design and pre-fabricate parapet framing for the top level. The prefab parapet framing system was proved to be the most productive and efficient solution with the ease and speed of the installation contributing to the profit of the project’s bottom line. All the framing was shop detailed in house and engineered before being manufactured, then transported directly to site.

Although our scope of works was small in comparison to the project size, it was great to have the opportunity to use our technology on this unique project.
