THE PROJECT CHALLENGE /
Design and fabricate a lightweight steel frame system in lieu of timber and structural steel without compromising the structural requirements of the cantilevered canopy.
THE CORTEK STEEL FRAMING SOLUTION /
The Cortek design team reduced significant structural steel for the canopies by hanging outriggers off the steel posts incorporated in the external walls.
Compared with a timber system, the steel frames were faster to install. No further adjustment or straightening was required with frames fabricated accurately, straight and true.
Thorough and precise shop detailing, deliveries scheduled to suit the project program, and dedicated on site design and engineering support resulted in a smooth and positive experience for the construction team.

The greatest outcome was the reduction in structural steel and successful resolution of the cantilevered canopy that enabled a full depth recessed pelmet to accommodate the internal blinds.
