Designed by DWP and built by Melbcon, this project involved the construction of a significant new meeting house for the Church of Latter Day Saints.
THE CORTEK FRAMING STEEL SOLUTION /
Cortek Framing by SBS Group was successfully awarded the package to design, manufacture and deliver wall and roof truss framing utilising our build smarter cold formed steel systems.
When timber is used, planing or packing of framing is essential to ensure straight and accurate results. However, as steel does not rot, twist or shrink, all framing was pre-fabricated square, true and uniform in size. This made way for a simple, easy and quick erection with no straightening required.
With strong load-bearing characteristics, the unique lightweight engineered alternative accommodated the large long span trusses. Cortek Framing also designed and shop detailed solutions to integrate with the specific window and door systems, making allowances for other trades for a streamlined installation.
The system was engineered to 1507 certification with Bluescope’s Truecore steel and assured by the manufacturers 50 year warranty.
