THE PROJECT CHALLENGE /
Working with Pirovich Constructions, the team at Cortek Framing by SBS Group challenged the status quo of traditional timber and structural steel stick build methods for the 4-level Spring Malvern project.
THE CORTEK FRAMING STEEL SOLUTION /
Top level wall and roof trusses, balustrades, feature columns and entry canopy framing was pre-fabricated using cold formed steel and delivered to site for fast and simple installation.
Full shop detailing, frame and bracket layout plans, 3D modelling and engineering were part of SBS Group’s smarter framing systems.
Manufactured straight and true to site specifications, the lightweight wall and roof truss framing was stood up by hand, saving cranage install time.
The stand-alone engineered balustrade, columns and canopy solutions removed precast, structural steel and infill framing requirements. The builder also saved on scaffolding costs with framing installed from the slab using EWP equipment.
Frames were designed to enable direct fixing of cladding materials.
