THE PROJECT CHALLENGE / The builder was seeking a lightweight framing alternative to achieve the innovative design concepts in the new Gateway Building project that featured unique suspended cranked ceilings and wall features.

> The alternative to a conventional construction method was a Cortek Framing Ultra Frame; lightweight yet high strength frame modules for an efficient and productive outcome for the builder and contractor.

> While retaining the architectural vision and functionality, the pre-fabricated alternative replaced traditional suspension systems with an accurate framing profile. Direct fix of ceiling panels eliminated structural steel and secondary furring channels.

> The modularised system was modelled using 3D processes, manufactured and coordinated off site with service trades. This enabled the large sections of the complex ceiling to be installed.

SBS Ultra Frame…transforming concepts into reality with lightweight alternatives.
