THE PROJECT CHALLENGE /

The builder was seeking a lightweight framing alternative to achieve the innovative design concepts in the new Gateway Building project featuring unique suspended cranked ceilings and wall features.

THE CORTEK STEEL FRAMING SOLUTION /

The alternative to a conventional construction method was lightweight yet high strength frame modules – an efficient and productive outcome for the builder and contractor.

While retaining the architectural vision and functionality, the pre-fabricated alternative replaced traditional suspension systems with an accurate framing profile. Direct fix of ceiling panels eliminated structural steel and secondary furring channels.

The modularised system was modelled using 3D processes, manufactured and coordinated off site with service trades. This enabled the large sections of the complex ceiling to be installed.
