THE PROJECT CHALLENGE /
With Virgin launching its second Active Club into the Melbourne market, 567 Collins Street was the perfect fit; a prestigious building in an ideal and convenient location, but it needed a new entrance to impress clients. Being the first point of contact for members, the front desk of the state-of-the-art facility was detailed with a striking hexagonal floating ceiling feature designed to engage and inspire.
THE CORTEK STEEL FRAMING SOLUTION /
Cortek was approached by the successful contractor to create a feasible lightweight pre-fabricated solution for the feature while still retaining the architectural floating appearance.
Following initial consultation, an alternative to a conventional on site build was developed. Superior suspended ceiling panels were constructed rigid and most importantly for the contractor, fabricated to be quick and easy to install on site. Frames were designed to remove bulky droppers, satisfying both the architect and client alike.
