THE PROJECT /

Located within the Melbourne Quarter precinct, this project forms part of a landmark development made up of seven towers.

The feature lobby ceiling incorporated a multi-faceted design with light troughs running at varying angles throughout the space. The intricate geometry and detailed lighting integration would have been highly labour intensive and difficult to deliver accurately using conventional stick-build methods.

With program pressure and the need to achieve a high-end architectural finish, a framing solution that could simplify installation while maintaining precision across the complex ceiling design was essential.

THE CORTEK STEEL FRAMING SOLUTION /

Cortek delivered a pre-fabricated steel framing solution designed specifically for the project’s unique geometry.

Through detailed shop drawings and precise coordination of the angled light trough locations, Cortek removed the guesswork typically associated with complicated ceiling layouts. Accurate off-site fabrication of the ceiling panels ensured each section arrived installation-ready and aligned with the architectural intent.

By shifting the complexity away from site and into the pre-fabrication process, Cortek helped reduce on-site labour requirements, improve installation efficiency and provide greater certainty around the final finish quality.
