Smarter Prefab Balustrade Alternatives for Grace Apartments

Grace Apartments is making its mark on Malvern Road, Glen Iris with its distinguished and refined architectural presence.

With Maxcon heading up the overall construction of the Conrad Architects designed project, the team at Cortek by SBS Group worked closely with the builder, manufacturing balustrade framing for the 4 level apartment project.

Framing modules were pre-fabricated and delivered to site in sections for quicker and more consistent installation intervals, keeping the project on time and on schedule. With full design, shop detailing and engineering provided, the advantages were substantial – the removal of steel posts, top rail and infill framing and the ability to directly clad the framing for improved on site productivity.

With balustrades installed earlier on in the project schedule, the requirement for fall protection was also no longer required – additional cost saving benefits for the builder.
